COCONOMA Season Dining’s name comes from the term for a standard-sized formal Japanese room during the Muromachi period, considered beautiful in dimension and design. The restaurant’s three rooms are each this size. Koagari, where guests take off their shoes before stepping up into the space, is a private area within stucco walls. The café space, ensconced in greenery, creates the impression of being let loose in a forest or grassland, while the main dining space evokes a reserved Kyoto townhouse with plants hinting at the changing seasons.
